About Us...

Aavo means “Come on in”. We want to share the very best of Indian comfort food with the convenience of a modern cafe.

Whether you’re looking for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you’ll find everything from English breakfasts with a Desi twist (try the masala-baked beans!) to authentic North Indian thalis to street-food favourites like samosas and pav vada.

And, of course, we can offer you a wide variety of hot and cold drinks including traditional spiced chai and freshly made lassi.

Serving the community of Walthamstow’s Wood Street area since 2022, we have made it our mission to prepare our food with all the care and attention that you’d find in any Gujurati home kitchen. Whether you want a small snack or a large evening meal, leave your cares at the door, get ready for an Indian taste experience like no other and Aavo.

I attend a private Christmas party event at Aavo which was catered and drinks provided. The space available was perfect for a smaller scale event - there was a Bluetooth speaker available, cutlery/crockery provided and the full catering proceeded. The Indian street food is superb. The Samosa Chaat (pictured) is nothing short of sensational. The homemade garlic chutney in this dish takes no prisoners.

I’ve been meaning to try Aavo since it opened and it did not disappoint! The service is super friendly and quick, plus the food was great. I had the mango lassi (recommended by one of the team there) and the chicken tikka kathi with chips. I would definitely recommend for a tasty meal and I’ll be back to try the samosas!
